Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to payments made directly to Kingbooks for software products, subscriptions, licenses, installation, setup, data migration, training, consulting, and related services. Kingbooks is an independent business software reseller and provides Independent QuickBooks Consulting Services. Kingbooks is independent of Intuit Inc. Refunds for products or services provided by Intuit or another third party may also be governed by that provider’s applicable terms.

Review Before Purchase
Before making a payment, customers are responsible for reviewing and confirming:

  • The selected product and subscription plan
  • The number of licensed users
  • The billing frequency
  • The subscription and renewal terms
  • The products and services included
  • The scope of services provided by Kingbooks
  • Payroll, employee, hosting, and other recurring charges
  • Computer, server, network, and software compatibility requirements
  • Data-migration requirements
  • Third-party charges
  • Applicable taxes
  • The total amount payable

  • Kingbooks will disclose the applicable products, services, charges, billing terms, and known recurring fees before completing an order.
QuickBooks Products and Intuit’s Refund Terms
QuickBooks products, subscriptions, payroll services, hosting services, payment services, and connected services may be subject to refund and cancellation terms established by Intuit or another applicable provider.
Intuit’s current published terms generally provide a 60-day money-back guarantee for eligible QuickBooks Desktop products. Eligibility depends on the product, purchase source, purchase date, subscription type, renewal status, location, and Intuit’s terms in effect at the time of the transaction.
The guarantee may not apply to certain products or transactions, including:

  • Subscription renewals
  • Purchases made outside the United States
  • QuickBooks Online subscriptions other than eligible annual subscriptions
  • Bulk software orders
  • Education or laboratory packs
  • Resource guides
  • Products or transactions excluded under Intuit’s applicable terms

  • A refund for an eligible QuickBooks product may result in the software license being deactivated and the customer losing access to the product.
Kingbooks will not deny a refund right that applies under Intuit’s terms, another provider’s terms, or applicable law. However, Kingbooks cannot guarantee that a transaction will qualify for a provider’s refund program.
    QuickBooks Enterprise Subscription Cancellations
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise may be offered through monthly or annual billing arrangements. When applicable under Intuit’s current terms:

  • An eligible cancellation within the applicable 60-day money-back-guarantee period may qualify for a refund.
  • An Annual Plan canceled after the applicable guarantee period generally does not qualify for a prorated refund. Access may continue for the remainder of the paid subscription term.
  • A Monthly Plan canceled after the applicable guarantee period generally remains active until the end of the current monthly billing period and does not qualify for a prorated refund.
  • Cloud-hosting, payroll, employee, time-tracking, payment, and connected-service charges may have separate cancellation and refund terms.

  • The terms in effect for the customer’s selected product and purchase source will control.
Products Purchased or Billed Directly by Another Provider
Products or subscriptions purchased and billed directly by Intuit or another third-party provider are subject to that provider’s refund and cancellation process.
Kingbooks cannot directly refund an amount that Kingbooks did not collect.
Depending on the purchase source, a refund request may need to be submitted to:

  • Intuit
  • A distributor
  • A retailer
  • An app store
  • A hosting provider
  • A payment-service provider
  • Another third-party seller

  • Kingbooks may provide reasonable assistance in identifying the appropriate refund process. The provider responsible for collecting the payment makes the final decision concerning refunds of amounts paid directly to that provider.
Cancellation Before Kingbooks Fulfills an Order
A customer may request cancellation before Kingbooks:

  • Orders or obtains a software license
  • Issues or transfers a license or activation code
  • Activates or provisions a subscription
  • Purchases a product from a distributor or provider
  • Begins installation, setup, migration, training, consulting, or another agreed service
  • Incurs a nonrecoverable third-party expense

  • If no product or service has been provided and Kingbooks has not incurred a nonrecoverable cost, the amount paid directly to Kingbooks will be eligible for a refund.
If Kingbooks has already incurred a disclosed and nonrecoverable expense, the refundable amount may be reduced by that expense to the extent legally permitted.
    Software, Licenses, and Digital Products
For products sold or billed by Kingbooks, refund eligibility will be reviewed according to:

li>Intuit’s or the applicable provider’s refund terms
  • The distributor’s terms
  • The product type
  • The purchase source
  • The subscription plan
  • The billing frequency
  • The purchase, delivery, or activation date
  • The renewal status
  • Whether a refund right applies under the provider’s terms
  • Whether the license must be deactivated
  • Whether Kingbooks can recover the amount paid to the provider or distributor

  • The fact that a product has been downloaded, activated, or used will not remove a refund right that applies under Intuit’s applicable money-back guarantee or applicable law.
Outside an applicable refund period, software, licenses, subscriptions, and other digital products may be non-refundable when Kingbooks cannot cancel the product or recover the amount paid to the provider.
    Kingbooks Services
Kingbooks may provide one-time services such as:

  • Product-selection assistance
  • Licensing coordination
  • Installation
  • Initial setup
  • Company-file configuration
  • User and permission setup

  • Before Work Begins
A customer may request a refund before work begins. Any approved refund may be reduced by a disclosed and nonrecoverable product, provider, distributor, payment-processing, or third-party expense already incurred, where legally permitted.

    After Work Begins
If work has started but has not been completed, Kingbooks will review the request based on:

  • The work already completed
  • The time already spent
  • Products or licenses already ordered
  • Third-party expenses already incurred
  • Resources already reserved or used
  • The remaining uncompleted scope of work

  • Any approved refund may be limited to the unused portion of the amount paid after deducting completed work and legally permissible nonrecoverable expenses.

    After Work Is Completed
Completed services are generally non-refundable except where:

  • Applicable law requires otherwise
  • Kingbooks materially failed to provide the service described in the written order
  • Kingbooks approves a correction, re-performance, credit, partial refund, or full refund after reviewing the circumstances

  • A customer’s change of mind after an agreed service has been completed does not automatically create refund eligibility.
    Data Migration
Data migration depends on the source software, product version, file condition, file size, data structure, integrations, and information supplied by the customer.
Not every record, field, attachment, template, report, transaction, setting, or historical item can be transferred from every product.
A refund will not automatically be provided because:
    ,
  • Every field or historical record could not be transferred
  • Source data was damaged, incomplete, duplicated, or incompatible
  • A third-party product does not support a particular record type
  • The customer changes the requested migration scope
  • The customer does not provide required files, passwords, access, or information
  • The customer does not review or test the migrated information
  • A problem results from the condition or limitations of the source data

  • If Kingbooks cannot materially perform the written migration scope, Kingbooks may offer an appropriate correction, re-performance, service credit, partial refund, or full refund after reviewing the work completed and expenses incurred.
    Compatibility and Customer-Caused Problems
Refunds may not be available for problems caused by:

  • Unsupported operating systems
  • Incompatible computers, servers, networks, or applications
  • Insufficient hardware, memory, storage, or network capacity
  • Internet or network failures
  • Existing software or data corruption
  • Malware or security incidents
  • Invalid, expired, or unauthorized licenses
  • Incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer
  • Failure to provide required access
  • Changes made by the customer or another service provider
  • Violation of a software provider’s terms
  • A third-party outage, product change, or discontinuation
  • Failure to meet system requirements disclosed before purchase

  • Kingbooks will make reasonable efforts to identify known compatibility requirements before beginning an agreed service.
    Recurring Charges and Renewals
Kingbooks does not enroll customers in recurring charges for its own one-time consulting, installation, setup, migration, or training services unless a recurring service is separately requested and agreed to by the customer in writing.
Software, payroll, hosting, payment-processing, time-tracking, and other services provided by Intuit or another third party may renew automatically under the provider’s terms.
Customers are responsible for reviewing and managing:

  • Subscription renewal dates
  • Automatic-renewal settings
  • Cancellation deadlines
  • Billing information
  • User counts
  • Employee counts
  • Hosting accounts
  • Payroll accounts
  • Connected applications
  • Third-party subscriptions

  • Kingbooks cannot guarantee a refund for a third-party renewal charge, missed cancellation deadline, or recurring payment collected directly by another provider.
    Incorrect, Duplicate, or Unauthorized Charges
Customers should promptly contact Kingbooks if they believe a payment made directly to Kingbooks was:

  • Charged incorrectly
  • Charged more than once
  • Processed for the wrong amount
  • Made without proper authorization
  • Applied to the wrong order

  • Kingbooks may request reasonable information to verify the customer’s identity, payment, transaction, and order before processing a correction or refund.
Confirmed duplicate or incorrect charges collected by Kingbooks will be corrected or refunded.
Suspected payment fraud, identity theft, or unauthorized card use may also need to be reported to the customer’s bank, card issuer, or payment provider.
    . Potentially Non-Refundable Amounts
Subject to an applicable provider guarantee, applicable law, and the written transaction terms, the following amounts may be non-refundable:

  • Services already completed
  • The reasonable value of work already performed
  • Software or subscriptions that are outside the applicable refund period
  • Licenses that cannot be canceled or returned
  • Payroll, hosting, payment, or connected services already provided
  • Distributor or provider charges that cannot be recovered
  • Payment-processing charges, but only when disclosed before purchase and legally permitted
  • Third-party expenses incurred specifically for the customer’s order
  • Custom work already completed
  • Data-migration work already performed
  • Training sessions already delivered
  • Charges resulting from materially inaccurate information supplied by the customer
  • Charges resulting from failure to meet compatibility requirements disclosed before purchase

  • Refund Request Procedure
To request a refund for a payment made directly to Kingbooks, contact Kingbooks and provide:

  • Business name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Invoice or order information
  • Payment date
  • Payment amount
  • Product or service purchased
  • Reason for the request

  • The provider’s refund terms
  • The subscription and renewal status
  • The work already completed
  • The product or license status
  • Third-party costs
  • Applicable legal requirements

  • Kingbooks may refer the customer to Intuit or another provider when that provider collected the payment or controls the applicable refund process.
    Approved Refunds
Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Kingbooks may request reasonable payment and identity verification before releasing a refund.
The time required for a refund to appear depends on the payment processor, card issuer, bank, and original payment method. Kingbooks does not control processing delays after an approved refund has been submitted to the applicable financial provider.
If the original payment method cannot accept the refund, Kingbooks may use another reasonable and verified refund method.
    Alternative Resolution
Depending on the circumstances, Kingbooks may offer one or more of the following:

  • Correction of the service
  • Re-performance of the agreed work
  • Technical troubleshooting
  • Completion of the remaining service
  • Replacement of an incorrectly supplied product
  • Account credit
  • Partial refund
  • Full refund

  • Any resolution will depend on the applicable order, work completed, product status, provider terms, customer cooperation, and legal requirements.
An alternative resolution will not replace a refund right that applies under a provider’s terms or applicable law unless the customer voluntarily agrees to the alternative.
    Fraud, Misuse, and Policy Violations
Kingbooks may deny a refund request where there is credible evidence of:

  • Fraud
  • Material misrepresentation
  • Payment abuse
  • Unauthorized software use
  • License sharing or misuse
  • Violation of applicable provider terms
  • Intentional interference with completed work
  • Use of a product or service followed by a fraudulent refund claim

  • Nothing in this section limits legally protected rights concerning genuinely unauthorized, duplicate, incorrect, or fraudulent transactions.
    Changes to This Refund Policy
Kingbooks may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes in products, services, business practices, payment methods, provider requirements, or applicable laws. The Refund Policy in effect when an order is accepted will apply to that order unless:

  • The customer and Kingbooks agree otherwise in writing
  • A provider’s applicable terms grant the customer additional rights
  • Applicable law requires otherwise
  • Relationship With Other Terms
This Refund Policy should be read together with:

  • The Terms and Conditions
  • The Privacy Policy
  • The applicable quotation
  • The invoice or order confirmation
  • Any written service agreement
  • The applicable software-provider or third-party-provider terms

  • If a signed written agreement contains a different refund provision for a particular transaction, the signed agreement will control for that transaction to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in this Refund Policy removes a customer right provided by applicable law or an applicable provider guarantee.
